My coworker/friends built Tom a place to dry out. Called the "Nine Lives Kitty Rest and Rehabilitiation Center", it is a nice atmosphere for watching the pink elephants, spiders, etc. that fly past.
The sign says "DO NOT give this cat any alcohol. Detox in progress."

Glad you and Tom made it back home safe and sound, if not sober. Thanks for taking us on the trip.
Now, keep up the blogging. It's been such a treat to see you on the page again.
Craig, you've always been an amazing writer. What can we compare your travel blog to? The Odyssey? Yes, because you encountered strange sights in foreign lands, with people to help guide your way. _Travels with Charley_? Yes, because you found poignant moments travelling with a pet on the back roads of the US. Now, if I'd only read Jack Kerouac, ..., we could find more parallels.
Travel can be restorative, but it also balances us, and brings into focus the special aspects of our daily lives. I'm very happy the trip made many memories, and helped you reapproach your extraordinary ordinary life.
Craig, I'm so glad Kathy sent me the link to your blog. I only wish I'd known about it sooner, so I could have followed your travels as you posted.
It sounds like you had a marvelous, restorative pilgrimage. Good for you!
Let me know, btw, if I'm e-mailing Kathy more often than she can deal with. I can dial back the frequency.
Take care, and stay in touch!
Hey, Craig!
Glad you were able to relax, but Tom looked absolutely ... catatonic. Now there's a drink idea!
